Crown Cruises Launches Dynasty

18 Oct 1999  Crown Cruise Line has acquired the MV Crown Dynasty, which begins South Caribbean cruises (Aruba home port) in December 1999. MHS will provide onboard medical services.

Cruise Medicine, Second Edition

21 Sep 1999  MHS announces the publication of the second edition of its textbook, Cruise Medicine, the first complete reference and source book for cruise physicans, nurses and medical administrators.

Commodore Launches Capri

4 June 1998  Commodore Cruise Lines started 2 and 5 day cruises this week from New Orleans on the SS Enchanted Capri (ex-Island Holiday), a newly refurbished 550 passenger ship with an emphasis on gaming. MHS was selected to operate the ship medical department.

MHS Chooses Medidoc for CMR

26 Jan 98   MHS announced today that it had signed an agreement with Medidoc Computerized Patient Records to develop and install a computerized medical records system for its ship infirmaries. The Medidoc system will be installed immediately at MHS headquarters and the first ship to get the system will be the Disney Magic, in February.

ACEP Passes New Guidelines - ICCL Follows Suite
The Board of Directors of the American College of Emergency Physicians today passed a new revision of its Health Care Guidelines for Cruise Ship Medical Facilities. In anticipation the ICCL had earlier adopted a similar and consistent set of guidelines for its member lines. The details of the ACEP Guidelines are available on the ACEP website.
